Hate List by Jennifer Brown

I think someone else would want to read this book because of its tragic crime novel and how the main character deals and gets over her boyfriend shooting people from their Hate List and then committing suicide. I liked this book because of its detailed narration and tragic story.

Eric Lindstrom

Eric Lindstrom debuted his writing career with Not if I See you First, a young adult novel first published in December 2015. He raised six children which exposed him to working at schools.He then found an interest in young adults novels and soon found that those were the only type of books he would read. 
Lindstrom went to the U.C. Berkeley and soon after worked as a Social Mobile Video Game Development Director and Designer. He was also nominated for a BAFTA and WGA for the interactive entertainment industry.

Not if I see you first by Eric Lindstrom

Parker is very independent and doesn't like to be helped unless she asks for it. Since the car crash that killed her mom and rendered her blind, Parker has made her own rules of conduct to make sure that no one deceives her. The summer after her sophomore year, her father died of an overdose on prescription drugs and her aunt and her family moved in with Parker. But, as Parker continuous her daily routines she begins to learn that almost everyone carries their own secrets that may look bad on pen and paper but are not what they seem to be.

I really liked this book since it creates some insight about how people who are blind want to be treated. This book was able to represent a girl who lost her vision at a young age yet still be capable to do things that are much more complex for her. It also shows how a situation can be viewed as something as hurtful but really is the complete opposite of how it was viewed. This book also touches upon the subject girls bottling up their grief until they burst under the pressure of keeping their emotions suppressed.

Huntley Fitzpatrick

Huntley Fitzpatrick was born as Huntley P. Funsten in a coastal town in Connecticut in 1963. She attended Concord Academy in Massachusetts and graduated in 1981, then after attended Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. She has published three books for young adults: My Life Next Door, What I thought was true, and The boy most likely. She now lives in Connecticut with her husband and six children.

What I thought was true by Huntley Fitzpatrick

Gwen is looking forward to the day that she can leave Seashell Island, her hometown and go make a life for herself. Gwen was looking forward to a calm summer of looking after her little brother and hanging out with her best friend and her cousin until she bumps into Cassidy Summers. Cassidy Summers is Gwen’s biggest mistake and she is shocked to learn that he is working as a yard boy at Seashell Island. Gwen's strategy is to ignore Cass but she keeps running into him. After sleeping with Cassidy, Gwen is humiliated to find a crowd cheering Cassidy on and congratulating him. Gwen admires Vivien (her best friend) and Nic’s (her cousin) relationship. They have been a steady couple since they were fourteen/fifteen and have never seemed to have any serious fights unlike Gwen’s love life that seem to be a string of meaningless one night stands. Who will show Gwen that there really is real love and that it doesn’t always have to be perfect.

I thought that this book was interesting. I really liked how the author kept us curious about who Cassidy really was and if Gwen had been mistaken about their relationship. This novel was tells a story between two teenagers that misunderstand pivotal events in their relationship and shows that events aren't always what they seem to be.

The Pianist: The extraodrdinary story of one man's survival in Warsaw, 1939-45 by Wladyslaw Szpilman

The Pianist is about a Jewish man named Wladyslaw Szpilman. Wladyslaw Szpilman was a pianist and had worked in the Polish Radio. This book describes how he survived in Warsaw from the beginning of the occupation of Poland to the very end of World War II. He recounts his story with astoundingly specific details from his last meal with his family to his thought process when he was in hiding.

I thought that this book was very interesting but very sad. When I read this book I could easily picture what he was going through at the time and was able to have some insight of the heartbreaking story of all the Jewish people across Europe. I would recommend this book to people that are interested in World War II and that are curious about the conditions of the Jewish people during this time.

Wladyslaw Szpilman

Wladyslak Szpilman was born in Sosnowiec, Congress Poland, Russian Empire. He had two sisters and one brother. He attended the distinguished Academy of Arts in Berlin. He later worked as a pianist and composer for the Polish Radio. He was a survivor of the Holocaust and was able to escape the grasps of the Nazis many times. He published a memoir that recounts his survival story of the Holocaust. He had also co-written a nonfiction book with well-known author Jerzy Waldorff called The Death of a City. He married Halina (Grzeznarowski) Szpilman and had one son with her. Wladyslak Szpilman later died in Warsaw, Poland on 6 July 2000 at the age of 88. After his death the Polish Radio Studio 1 was renamed to Wladyslaw Szpilman in his commemoration.

Sara Zarr

Sara Zarr was born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 3, 1970 but she was raised in San Francisco. She had an Evangelical Christian upbringing which inspired one of her books. She attended San Francisco State University and obtained a degree in communications. Story of a Girl is her first novel and it was published in 2007. She has also published four other books for young adults called Sweethearts, Once was Lost, The Lucy Variation, and What we Lost. She and her husband now live in Salt Lake City, Utah.

How to save a life by Sara Zarr

It's been 10 months since Jill's dad died. Jill was overwhelmed with grief when her father died since he was the parent that she was closest. She has her own routine; go to school, go to work and then come home and do the same things the next day. After her dad died she pushed away all of her friends and was also able to drive her boyfriend away.
Until now Mandy has only known her mother's lifestyle. Her mother has always had dreams of settling down with a man that will make her rich. Mandy never really had stability in her life. Her mother was always present but taught her to do vain things. Suddenly, Mandy gets pregnant and decides to leave home and find someone to adopt her baby.

What will happen when Jill's Mom decides to adopt Mandy's baby and let Mandy stay with them until her delivery? Jill thinks that her mom is making a rash decision. But, will Mandy's carefree personality be able to get along with Jill's routinely attitude?

This book had many cliff-hangers right from the beginning and is able to portray the lives of two very different girls. Jill who has always gotten everything she wanted and was very loved especially by her father until her father passes away. On the other hand Mandy has always felt neglected since her mother makes it very clear that she never intended to have a child. I think that it was very creative how the author was able to intertwine their stories together and to create a unique novel.

Crissa-Jean Chappell

                  

Crissa-Jean Chappell was born in Miami, Florida in the 1980s where she grew up. She attended the University of Miami and attained a PhD and MFA. She was the last of five children and practically grew up as an only child. She had two sisters and two brothers. As a child she was very creative and was very imaginative. So far, Crissa-Jean has published three books: Total Constant Order, Narc, and More than good Enough. She now lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Narc by Crissa-Jean Chappell

Narc by Crissa-Jean Chappell is about a boy named Aaron Foster. In his senior year Aaron is pulled over with his sister because he was speeding. The officer pats them down to make sure that they don't have any illegal substances on them. To Aaron's surprise his little sister is found with marijuana on her. The police officer gives Aaron a deal that will keep his sister from undergoing any consequences. The deal is that Aaron can either go to jail for drug possession or he can help the police officer find the prime drug dealer who sells at Palm Hammock High School and bring him down. But as Aaron tries to find the drug dealer he is faced with a decision that could change the lives of his newfound friends.

In my opinion, this was a really interesting book because it is a story about a boy that risked almost everything to protect his little sister even though it could impact his life in many different ways. I thought it had a really good plot twist and was very original. It had many cliff hangers along the book and didn't have a stereotypical ending which is one of the reasons why I liked it.

Rats Saw God by Rob Thomas

I think someone would want to read this book because of its captivating story. This book is about a teenager who gives up on school and then he is told to choose between going to summer school and writing an essay to graduate from High School. I liked this book because of its detailed narration and emotion on what was happening in that moment.

Under A War-Torn Sky by L. M. Elliott

I think someone would want to read this book because is has a lot of adventure and suspense. This book teaches you a little bit about the history of the World War I & World War II without you realizing it. I liked this book because it was very emotional not emotional like Romeo and Juliet but emotion that seems realistic. What I liked about this book is that it absorbed me into it. It made me feel like I was the character in the book, unlike some books that you know are unrealistic and can never happen.

Accidental love by Gary Sato

I think that someone else would want to read this book because you can relate to the story. When you read a fantasy that the main characters are on a quest to find the hidden treasure you can't relate because you know it can't happen in real life. I liked this book because it isn't unrealistic what happens in this book is like a fantasy that you dream up in your head but with more problems which make this book more believable. I also like all the emotion that the writer puts in this book

Jeffersons's Sons by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley

I think someone would want to read this book because it is very suspenseful and has many cliff-hangers. I liked this book because of its historical references, I generally don't like history but I like to know what has happened in the times of slavery. I think I like to read these type of books because I can learn from them; how to be a better person or/and what kind of personality never to adopt. I also read this books to see how the world has changed and how it stills is the same (the same difference) with all the bad ways and the good ways.

If Only by Carole Geithner

I think someone else would want to read this book to know what it feels like to have someone close to you die. It gives you like a preview of how it might feel and how the other persons would want you to react. I know that it will feel different than how the author describes it in the book but it seems to be close enough. I liked how the author was very detailed when she wrote and how you could kind off feel how the main character is feeling. I like the tragedy of this book but that the main character finally finds closure after a long year of sadness.

Subway Girl by P. J. Converse

I think someone else would want to read this book because of its cute love story and all the effort made to connect with each other. This book's romance story has many ups and downs but has a creative story plot.

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

I think someone else would want to read this book because of it suspense and detailed stories. This book is about a girl who commits suicide but before she dies she records the reasons and the people who caused her to think about committing suicide. This book is told in various stories and then all connected together. I usually don't like it when book are divided into a whole bunch of stories and then are all fit together in the end. But this book was so intriguing that I ended up liking it a lot.

Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson

I think someone else would want to read this because of its tragic story about a girl who is loosing everything because of the yellow fever and has to learn to survive on her own. I liked how this book is based on real events and how the girl didn't give up hope.

The Journey Back by Priscilla Cummings

I think someone would want to read this because of it suspenseful adventure and of its very descriptive narrative. You should read Red Kayak first so that this book would make more sense. I liked it emotion and the very suspenseful adventure in this book.
